Walking and Running are Excellent Ways to Lose Weight



Eight Tips on How To Lose Weight by Walking or Running.

1. Wear comfortable walking or running shoes - This is one of the most important walking tips there is. Wearing uncomfortable shoes can cause all sorts of injury and discomfort. Pick good walking shoes before you take a step.

2. Swing your arms as you walk and run - Swinging your arms incorporates your entire body into the motion. You will burn more energy and lose more weight this way.

3. Walk at a rapid pace -- Don't stroll. Walk at a rapid pace which gets your heart rate up but which is relatively easy for you to maintain.

4. Walk and run with music -- Use an iPod or another player when you exercise. Play music you like (nothing depressing). This will help you to walk or run for longer periods of time.

5. Walk or run at least 3 times a week. If you can manage more that's great.

6. Walk or run Exercise for half an hour at least each time. Anything less is not too effective. Exercising more will make you lose more weight.

7. Do some stretching before and after -- Stretching before and after walking or running will reduce risk of injury and will also reduce muscle strain?

8. Exercise walking or running with a friend -- I'm sure you'll be able to find someone who's willing to work out with you, a friend or a neighbor. It's fun to walk with company.
